Jesse Wallace threw two touchdowns passes, including one in the fourth quarter to seal the win over Toledo.

Although the Spudders were outgained by over 100 yards, the game was a back and forth tug-of-war battle for the majority of the game.

Toledo struck first, as Danny Aguilar punched in a 1 yard touchdown run to take a 6-0 lead, as the two point conversion was missed.

Ridgefield responded with a 1 yard touchdown run of their own, with Ian Williams taking the lead for the Spudders as the first quarter came to a close.

Toledo answered with an 8-yard run from Cody Meier, breaking tackles and finding the end zone. Quarterback Jesse Wallace ran in the two point conversion for a 14-7 lead.

Immediately after, Ridgefield tied the score with a 23 yard run by their own quarterback, Clayton Farr.

Ridgefield regained control in Toledo territory with only a few minutes remaining, giving the Spudders an excellent opportunity to take the lead and all the momentum into the third quarter.

Ridgefield fumbled, however, and Toledo countered with a 34 yard pass to “do-it-all-man-kicker/receiver/defensive end-man” Ronnie Boone, giving the Indians a halftime lead of 20-14.

As the momentum swayed towards the Indians, Meier punched in another touchdown.

The tug-of-war continued as Clayton Farr tossed a 71 yard pass to Michael Knox to put the game within striking distance. The kick was good, with the Spudders facing a 26-21 deficit.

The score remained unchanged until the fourth quarter, when Wallace found Boone yet again in the endzone, to take the lead and finalize the score at 34-21.

Toledo scored five touchdowns, attempting a two point conversion each time.

Farr, in his first game of the season, finished 7-17 with 150 yards through the air.
