The Portland Timbers announced on Tuesday that more than 97 percent of their season ticket holders have renewed for the 2012 season. The team also announced that its waiting list for season tickets has grown to more than 5,000 applications.
The Timbers sold 12,500 season tickets prior to the 2011 season, their first in Major League Soccer. This season, Portland sold out all 17 league matches at Jeld-Wen Field.
