Vancouver — The Bedford retirement community will host a by-donation spaghetti feed and salad bar to support Outward Bound for Veterans, a nonprofit agency that helps returning service members readjust to life at home.

Outward Bound for Veterans provides powerful wilderness courses that rely on teamwork and challenge, resilience and service to encourage healing and rebuild confidence.

The cost for one veteran to complete an Outward Bound course is $2,000, and there is currently a 500-name waiting list.

The Bedford’s parent company, Holiday Retirement, is hoping to raise enough to allow more than 600 veterans to participate. Holiday Retirement will also match every dollar donated.

The spaghetti feed and salad bar is set for 5 p.m., Oct. 22 at The Bedford, 13303 S.E. McGillivray Blvd.

All proceeds benefit Outward Bound for Veterans.

The Bedford will host another fundraising event Nov. 12.

To RSVP or learn more, call The Bedford at 360-891-6898. Donations can also be made online at http://holidaytouch.com/outwardbound.
