A 17-member committee has been appointed to lead the search for the next chancellor of Washington State University Vancouver.
Gay Selby, assistant clinical professor in the College of Education at WSUV, is chairing the committee.
The committee is composed of 12 members of WSU’s faculty and staff (two from Pullman, one from Spokane and nine from Vancouver); one WSUV student; and four business leaders from Southwest Washington.
The next chancellor of WSUV will fill the role vacated when H.A. “Hal” Dengerink, WSUV’s founding chancellor, retired in August.
Dengerink died on Sept. 14 after a two-year battle with brain cancer.
The public is invited to offer input at a forum from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Dengerink Administration building on the WSUV campus, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave.
The search committee will accept confidential applications and nominations until the position is filled.
The committee is working with Greenwood/Asher & Associates Inc., an executive search firm based in Miramar, Fla.
Candidate screening will begin immediately. Applications and nominations should be provided by Dec. 1.
