Nothing surprising happened at Kiggins Bowl in this matchup between the best in the Class 3A Greater St. Helens League and a struggling program.

Camas (5-1, 4-0 GSHL) gained 294 yards of offense in the first half and held Hudson’s Bay to two yards in the first two quarters.

The Papermakers broke the half-century mark by halftime and settled for a 58-0 victory over the Eagles (0-6, 0-3).

Zack Marshall rushed for 81 yards on eight carries with two touchdowns, Tony Gennaro threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, and Nate Beasley scored on offense and defense in the rout.

“We asked the kids to improve in a number of different areas, and they did everything we asked them to do,” Camas coach Jon Eagle said. “I’m really impressed with this group.”

Gennaro completed 10 of 13 passes for 168 yards in his half of action. Zach Eagle and Dylan White caught his touchdown passes.

Hudson’s Bay spotted the Papermakers two points on its opening possession, fumbling the ball out the end zone.

The Papermakers would score three touchdowns in the first quarter, then found the end zone four more times in the second quarter to post 51 into the locker.

Backup quarterback Reilly Hennessey capped the scoring on a 1-yard run late in the game.

Both teams had the ball twice in the second half with the running clock. The Eagles did pick up some decent gains on rushes from Jahmile Sipaia and Richard Carter. Accounting for a bad snap on a punt, the Eagles finished with 40 yards of offense. Camas ended up with 337.
