An East Vancouver eye clinic was temporarily evacuated Monday after smoke from a faulty fan motor filled a day surgery unit.

Vancouver and Camas firefighters were called to the Vancouver Eye Clinic, 17720 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., Suite 100, at 2:27 p.m.

They arrived to find the clinic evacuated and some smoke in the day surgery unit, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

After climbing to the roof, they found a fan unit had malfunctioned, causing the smoke to enter the building.

There was no report of any fire.
