Meet Tommy, a 6-year-old Chihuahua mix who came to the shelter as a stray. Now this cute little guy is on the search for a home where he can curl up next to his new family on the couch and cuddle. He also has plenty of energy and can be a very active boy when he’s in the mood to play. Please bring in any children over the age of 14 to meet Tommy. Tommy is not currently on our adoption floor. Contact fsmith@southwesthumane.org to schedule an appointment to meet him.

Zahara is a 6-year-old black and white domestic short hair. She came to the shelter as a stray. Sadly, no one from her family ever came to take her back home. Now she is ready to start fresh and find her very own forever family. Zahara would like a home with children over the age of 6 since she does not like to be held for long. This sweet girl is ready to start her new life. Ask how you can take her home today.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
