Free digital workshops: Washington State University Vancouver digital communications instructors will host a free, first-come, first-serve workshop open to any local resident, small-business owner or nonprofit-group employee: Optimizing your Website for Search Engines 101 by Dene Grigar, director and associate professor of the Creative Media & Digital Culture Program. The workshop is noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Multimedia Classroom Building, Room 111, on the WSUV campus, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave. Limited to 24 persons. There is a fee to park on campus. Mortgage information: The Obama administration’s Making Home Affordable Program, the HOPE NOW Alliance and NeighborWorks America are sponsoring an event for homeowners that are finding it difficult to pay their mortgage, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Portland. Mortgage servicers and nonprofit housing counselors will work one-on-one, on a first-come, first-served basis, with struggling homeowners. Holiday home tour: Downtown Camas Association sponsors self-guided tours of four Camas homes decorated for the holiday season from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3 (the Lacamas Shores home will close at 3 p.m.) and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 4. Tickets are $20 each and include live entertainment. In addition to the regular tour, the Camas association has added “Evening at the Farrell House,” 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 2. Tickets, $25, for this event are sold separately, and include wine and hors-d’oeuvres and are limited to 25 guests. Tickets for the private tour available at the Camas Hotel and The Uncommon Gift.
