Cascade Highlands — Heidi Hansen donated two of her original paintings to be auctioned during the Mill Plain Whole Foods Taste of Thanksgiving event. The paintings were part of a silent auction and brought in $275 for Share. Hansen said this is a victory lap for her. She and her son have been homeless three times and received help from Share, and now it’s her turn to give back.

The painting “Autumn Traveler” featured a homeless traveler at a feast-laden table in the woods. The second painting, “When Fairies Fail” was painted in honor of homeless children and featured a child sharing a Thanksgiving feast with his dog in a storage shed.
