WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — U.S. Sen. John Hoeven says Tesoro is planning a $60 million rail shipping project to move Bakken crude oil from western North Dakota to its refinery in Anacortes, Wash.
Hoeven says Tesoro CEO Greg Goff told him the project will be capable of moving 30,000 barrels of oil per day. Deliveries are scheduled to begin late next year.
Tesoro will have the option of sending Bakken crude either to Washington state or to its refinery at Mandan. The company in March announced a $35 million project to increase capacity at the North Dakota refinery by 10,000 barrels a day, to 68,000 barrels daily.
