Talking Points: New Marlins colors are wild

What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

1

No need to adjust your eyes, the logo below is indeed the new Miami Marlins look.

And no, this is not an expansion team. Well, yes, it was back in 1993, when the Florida Marlins were born into Major League Baseball.

Now the 2012 version will be very Miami (something to do with getting a new stadium and all).

Of course the Marlins’ new fashion statement was getting ripped online. Of more than 5,000 votes cast in a poll on SunSentinel.com, 59 percent rated the uniforms “awful.” Only 14 percent gave them high marks.

The true votes are still being taken via the cash register.

Think Albert Pujols has placed his order?

Say and think what you will about Duke basketball, but at least give it up for coach Mike Krzyzewski after he notched win No. 902 on Saturday to tie Bob Knight for all-time career victories.

Yeah, beating teams like Presbyterian isn’t all that impressive.

What is impressive is to build a program over 37 seasons and have it succeed year after year.

Everyone is entitled to play a Presbyterian team along the way.
