Reminder to ‘curb’ antifreeze, motor oil

As the temperature drop, Clark County Environmental Services wants to increase awareness about recycling used antifreeze and motor oil.

Both are accepted for curbside recycling and should never be dumped down a drain or on the ground, Jim Mansfield, sustainability specialist, said in a news release this week.

The liquids should be placed in one-gallon clear plastic jugs with screw-top lids and not mixed together or with any other liquids.

Curbside recycling is available at all single-family homes, but not all apartments or condominiums. Check with your manager if you live in a multifamily complex.

For questions about recycling, call Environmental Services at 360-397-2121 Ext. 4352 or go to http://www.clark.wa.gov/recycle/recyclingA-Z.html.
