Hazel, an 8-year-old Plott hound mix, is a very quiet girl who needs a quiet, relaxed home, where she can cuddle and sleep next to her new forever family. Her new home needs a fenced yard to keep her safe; she loves to follow her nose. She should first meet any kids with whom she might live.

Meet Bumble, a 5-year-old cat who came to the shelter as a stray. Bumble is a very sweet and loving boy. He would like a slow introduction to any new furry friends with whom he might live, so he has time to acclimate. He would to like to live with children older than 6 because he does not like a lot of commotion.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
