Help put on holiday parties for kids in need

The Felida Neighborhood Association is holding four fundraisers to raise money for holiday parties for children in need.

Milada Allen, president of the group, said Felida used to help the Northeast Hazel Dell Neighborhood Association on its big annual party at Sarah J. Anderson Elementary School — but this year, it was decided the need is just too big for one bash in one place.

Now, Felida has teamed up with the East Minnehaha neighborhood to put on a party in that area, as well as another party in its own west-side area. The west-side, Felida/Salmon Creek party will be invitation only, Allen said; the east-side party is set for Dec. 15 at Walnut Grove Elementary School.

To help put all this on, Felida is hosting the following:

• Wendy’s Hazel Dell: 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16, 8000 N.E. 6th Ave. Fifteen percent of sales will be donated to Felida’s west-side party.

• Applebee’s Salmon Creek: 8 to 10 a.m. Nov. 19, 13006 N.E. Highway 99. Including silent auction. Tickets are $7. Proceeds will benefit both parties, east and west. Donated auction items are still welcome; call Allen at 360-573-4030.

• Farrar’s Bistro, Felida: 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 3, 12514 N.W. 36th Ave. Tickets are $7, and the breakfast benefits the west-side party.

• Beaches Vancouver: 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 10, 1919 S.E. Columbia River Drive. Tickets are $10 for this breakfast buffet, which benefits the west-side party.

The Felida Neighborhood Association is a nonprofit association, so all ticket sales are tax-deductible. Call Milada Allen at 360-573-4030.

Meanwhile, the annual Northeast Hazel Dell party is set for Dec. 15 at Sarah J. Anderson Elementary School; watch this space for information about fundraisers in early December.
