A local nonprofit is hosting the second annual Great Leaf Rake-Up in neighborhoods throughout Vancouver and Portland.

The nonprofit, Go Connect, will link volunteers with people who can’t get outside to rake their own leaves, whether due to age, disability or other reasons. The event is scheduled for Nov. 19.

Go Connect will use an online computer program to coordinate the efforts. Those who would like to volunteer, can sign up at http://www.neighborlinkup.com/volunteer. Volunteers will be provided with names and addresses of people in their area who need help cleaning up leaves.

People who need help with their leaves can be added to the database by contacting Go Connect at 360-818-4330 or signing up at http://www.neighborlinkup.com/rakeup. All personal information is confidential and hidden from public view.

Anyone who is unable to remove their own leaves, whatever the reason, qualifies.
