Volleyball roundup: King’s Way wins district title

McKenzie Davis had 14 kills and 10 digs, and Sarah Landstrom added 39 assists as King’s Way Christian rallied past Seton Catholic to capture the 1B district championship.

The Knights won 22-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-16, 15-11. Cheyenne Cunning had 31 kills and 14 digs in the loss for Seton Catholic. Both teams advance to next week’s 1B state tournament.

1A district — Shawntel Kalliainen had 28 digs and Beatrice Bremer had seven kills and five blocks as Ridgefield defeated Onalaska 25-23, 25-19, 25-18 to clinch a berth to the 1A state tournament in Yakima.

Ridgefield lost to Kalama 25-20, 25-17, 25-19 in the third-place match. Korrie Stephenson had 10 kills in that match.

2A district — Hockinson lost twice — to Tumwater and Mark Morris — and was eliminated from the 2A district tournament.

4A bi-district — Skyview lost to Kent-Meridian 25-19, 16-25, 25-15, 25-17 in a loser-out match in Kent, ending the Storm’s season.
