The Montesano Bulldogs ended Ridgefield’s season with a shutout to advance to the Class 1A state playoffs.

Montesano scored four first-quarter touchdowns to put this away early.

Ridgefield turned the ball over four times.

The Spudders finished with a 6-4 record under first-year head coach Matt Martin.

“We won six games and made the playoffs. It didn’t end the way we wanted it to, but it was still a successful season,” Martin said.

The Spudders have a young team — which bodes well for the future. Those players also saw a quality opponent Friday night.

“If you want to be that good, now you know what it takes,” Martin said he told his team after the game.
