Jaymie Towne led a balanced attack with nine kills as the Hawks advanced to the district semifinals by winning in three close games. The Hawks will play Tumwater at 11 a.m. on Saturday in a semifinal match at Black Hills High School.
Kelsey Whiles had 25 assists for Hockinson, and Katie McDonald had 21 digs.
If Hockinson loses its semifinal match, it will meet Mark Morris in a winner-to-state match at 1 p.m. Saturday. Mark Morris beat Hockinson three times in 2A Greater St. Helens League play this season.
