Man shot by his father in Camas

Thomas F. Reiter received non-life threatening injuries

A Camas man was transported to the hospital Thursday night with non-life threatening injuries after he was allegedly shot by his father.

Just after 7:30 p.m., Camas Police were called to 805 N.W. Greeley St., following a report that a shot had been fired. On arrival, police discovered Thomas F. Reiter, 43, had received a gunshot wound. According to a press release, the shooter was identified as his father, Thomas J. Reiter, 70.

According to reports, at the time of the shooting the son had been visiting the home of his father, where the incident took place.

Thomas F. Reiter was transported to PeaceHeath Southwest Medical Center. As of this morning, he is listed in satisfactory condition.

Thomas J. Reiter was booked into the Clark County Jail on charges of second degree assault. He is expected to make an appearance in Clark County Superior Court today.

Camas Police detectives continue to investigate the incident.
