Brush Prairie — Prairie High School has become the latest Clark County school to launch an SOS (Save Organic Scraps) program. The program is in connection with the county’s Environmental Services Department and Waste Connections.
Students separate their lunch waste into recyclable or nonrecyclable bins. The recyclable materials — food and paper products — are collected and taken to an off-site location for composting. The compost is then marketed in bags by Cedar Grove Compost, which can be found in local stores.
