Camas police arrested a man today for allegedly murdering a woman whose body was found near 192nd Avenue and Evergreen Highway.

Dennis L Wolter, 43, was stopped early this morning by a Camas police officer as the result of a traffic violation in the area near the Camas-Vancouver border of the Evergreen Highway. Wolter was interviewed and subsequently arrested for first-degree murder, as well as and an outstanding warrant. He was booked into the Clark County Jail.

According to a release from the Vancouver Police Department, the body of the 41-year-old female from Vancouver was discovered at approximately 4 a.m. this morning. An autopsy is being performed by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office. According to police, her identity is being withheld pending notification of family.

The investigation led Vancouver police to a location near West 39th and Olive street in Vancouver, which appears to be where the murder took place. That location is being processed and the case investigated by detectives from the Vancouver Police Major Crimes Unit and Camas Police Department.
