Local students finish first at vocal competition

Evergreen — Three students of vocal teacher Linda Appert placed first at the WIAA/WMEA State Solo and Ensemble Contest in Ellensburg on April 30. The winners in each category competed against either 22 or 44 high-quality vocalists. Appert’s students were Christina Arroyo, a soprano from Union High School, Natalie Parks, a mezzo-soprano from Union High School, and Drew Bryant, a bass from Mountain View High School.
