Arnada — What goes around, comes around, so they say. A year ago, local musician Brady Beard, was playing at a memorial benefit for a young boy who died of E. coli. This year, Beard, 29, was on the receiving end of a similar event.

Local musicians held a benefit concert for Beard who was hit in March by an uninsured motorist. Beard was on foot. His left leg was broken in two places, his arm was broken and his skull was fractured.

Since the accident, which put him into a wheelchair, he has been out of work and displaced from his apartment. The concert at The Brickhouse helped raise funds to pay for any uncovered costs of the accident.

Beard was “completely overwhelmed” by the huge show of support by the community. Special thanks go to Anni Becker, The Jeremy Wilson Foundation, local musicians who volunteered their time, and family and friends who made the fundraiser a success.

An ongoing account has been set up through the Jeremy Wilson Foundation, a nonprofit designed to help local musicians in times of need. http://www.thejwf.org.
