Washougal — Volunteers pulled garlic mustard and other invasive weeds in the Washougal River Greenway in Camas and Washougal during an Earth Day event sponsored by Clark County Environmental Services. More than 180 pounds of invasive weeds were removed from Hathaway Park in Washougal with the help of 15 volunteers. A simultaneous effort was held at Salmon Creek Park in Hazel Dell, where 61 volunteers removed nearly 4,000 pounds of unwanted vegetation. All together, more than 4,100 pounds of garlic mustard were pulled during the dual events.
