Harvey is a 2-year-old American pitbull terrier. He came to the shelter as a stray with wounds all over his face and legs. We treated his wounds, fed him quality food and now he is healed and ready to be adopted. Harvey is playful and smart; he knows sit, shake and down. Harvey is very affectionate but will need to meet any female dogs he will be spending time with; he should be in a home without other male dogs, cats or kids younger than 10. If you are interested in adopting Harvey, email fsmith@southwesthumane.org to make an appointment as he is not on the general adoption floor.

Goldie is an 8-year-old domestic shorthair blue tabby. She came to the shelter when her family could no longer care for her. Goldie will need to go to a home with children older than 14 because she likes her surroundings calm and quiet. We recommend she gets a slow introduction to her new household, just so she has time to acclimate.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees vary. Call 360-693-4746.
