Salmon Creek — Tracey Rushton and Kristen Kadow could sell you the moon. The two Washington State University Vancouver students in December placed first and second at the WSU Vancouver Sales Competition. These wins sent them to Georgia in March to compete in the 13th annual National Collegiate Sales Competition.

During the nationals they went head-to-head in sales call challenges against 120 of the top students in collegiate sales programs across the nation including Purdue University, Baylor University, The University of Georgia and the University of Washington.

In the first round, Rushton took first place in her bracket and advanced to the quarter finals. Kadow scored third place in her bracket and advanced to the wild-card round. Both performed well in the next round, but did not advance to the championship round.

Ron Pimentel, associate director of the professional sales program at WSU Vancouver, coaches the sales teams with assistance from other marketing faculty and local sales professionals.
