Esther Short — Elvis was definitely in the house … as were the Beach Boys and Little Richard, among other rock and roll greats. The house would be the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge, 107 E. Seventh St.

Around three or four times a year, the Eagles put on a live musical show for the community. The latest one was “The Fabulous ’50s and ’60s.” The shows are produced and directed by Ruth Fox, Fox Show Productions. Most of the cast are amateurs; a few are old hats. Mark Schrade played Elvis. Fox was Little Richard, and a 7-year-old named Olivia Boomhower sang the Beatles.

Proceeds from the shows benefit various local charities and help keep the Vancouver Eagles afloat. Dave Edwards from the Eagles said they picked the ’50s and ’60s theme because “the music brings people of all ages together because it’s as good today as it was over a half century ago.”
