Ridgefield Lions donate cash keep firefighters dry

RIDGEFIELD — The Ridgefield Lions Club has donated $1,654 to Clark County Fire and Rescue for the purchase of two “water dry” suits. The suits are used by the fire district’s marine rescue program to provide a margin of safety, Fire Chief Dennis Matson said, by holding off hypothermia when firefighters are working in freezing water. The fire district wants to buy 12 suits; they cost approximately $825 each.
