Local Jackson’s store tops state donations to fight domestic violence

GREEN MEADOWS — Customers of the Jackson’s Food Store at 8515 S.E. Andresen Road made a big contribution to the fight against domestic violence during the holiday season.

They bought 1,122 “doves for peace” at $1 each. Corporate CEO John Jackson matched their donations dollar for dollar, making the total raised $2,244.

It was the highest amount raised by any Jackson’s Food Store in the state during its seasonal campaign. The company presented the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence a $28,330 donation this month.
