Mittens is a 3½-year-old domestic medium hair dilute torti with white. Mittens came to the shelter when her family could no longer care for her. She would prefer a home with children older than age 14 as she would prefer a calm and relaxed environment and needs to be indoors only so she can keep her coat looking luxurious.

Leo is a 1½-year-old bluetick coonhound that has come to Southwest Washington from another shelter in hopes of finding a home. Leo is a sweet and somewhat shy dog that has lived with other dogs and children. Leo should meet any kids he would live with to make sure they get along; he needs a home with no cats. Since he’s a hound, he also needs a 6-foot wood fence.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
