Local student named to NMU dean’s list

Dean M. Beyer of Camas was named to the dean’s list at Northern Michigan University.

To be named to the list, a student must earn at least a 3.25 GPA.

Summer reading programs have begun

The libraries in Camas and Washougal have started summer reading programs. Children and teens may sign up for these at either the Washougal Community Library, 1661 “C” St., or the Camas Public Library, 625 N.E. Fourth Ave.

Programs run through Aug. 12 in Camas and Aug. 31 in Washougal.

Both offer prizes and incentives for minutes read, as well as weekly activities.

In Camas, those who read 900 minutes before Friday, July 29 receive a free swim pass to Lacamas Swim & Sport for that afternoon from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Hensley graduates from University of Idaho

Jordan Hensley of Camas earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Idaho on Friday, May 13.

Hensley was a 2008 graduate of Camas High School and plans to pursue a master’s of public policy.

CHS office hours have changed

The Camas High School main office will close for the summer at 3 p.m. until Monday, Aug. 22. Summer hours will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and noon to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
