This is Neptune! He is a 10-year-old exotic short hair/domestic short hair smoke tabby. He came to the shelter as a stray. Sadly, no one from his family ever came to take him back home. Neptune will need to be indoors only in order to keep his coat looking great. He would like a slow introduction to his new household and any new furry friends he might be living with, just so he has time to acclimate. Ask how to take him home today.

Meet Mousette, a 1-year-old Chihuahua mix. This sweet little dog traveled all the way from California to find her forever home. Since she did not come with any history she will need to meet any children she would be living with and should meet any dogs you have. If you are interested in adopting Mousette, she is not on the general adoption floor, so please email fsmith@southwesthumane.org to arrange a meeting.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
