Students test for black belt status

Camas — Camas Soo Bahk Do students participated in their black belt test with the World Moo Duk Kwan Federation in LaConner on May 14.

Jasmin Tuttle, Alistair Graham, Jordan Johnson, Ray Smith and Sean Oulashin completed a series of essays, written exams, and community service as well as physical tests, including board breaking and sparring. Graham, Johnson, Smith and Tuttle trained for nearly five years to be eligible to test for the rank of first-degree black belt. Oulashin, testing for third-degree black belt, has trained for more than nine years.

Their instructors are Master Anna Oulashin, third-degree, and Master Chuck Smith, fifth-degree black belt.
