Old Evergreen Highway — Columbia Springs, a nonprofit environmental education organization, can now better illuminate its walkways because of a donation of exterior lighting and labor from the Vancouver based employees of Stoner Electric. The new lighting will make it more inviting for community members to participate in workshops and events during evening hours.

Brian Alexander, project manager with Stoner Electric, headed up a team of electricians who installed $5,000 worth of exterior lighting on the old hatchery buildings and state-of-the-art LED lighting on a new classroom designed to highlight sustainable building practices. Columbia Springs Executive Director Gala Miller said the center would have difficulty maintaining its facilities and offering quality environmental educational programming without the help of businesses such as Stoner Electric that give back to their community.
