Skyview, Alki students score in national math contest

North Salmon Creek — An Alki Middle School student, Isaak Jensen, and a Skyview High School student, Fred Lu, received awards in the 2010 Ciphering Time Trials, a national math contest. Jensen placed ninth in the middle school division (9th grade) and Lu placed 19th among 11th-graders. During the competition, students have three minutes to solve three problems that cover a range of difficulties in diverse topics. The Skyview team is coached by Carol Hatton. The team will participate in another contest on February 3.
