BATTLE GROUND — An overhead crosswalk arm with a flashing yellow light has gone into operation on Northeast 20th Avenue at Onsdorff Boulevard in Battle Ground, just south of Daybreak Primary and middle schools.
The improvements were financed by a portion of a $184,000 “Safe Routes to Schools” grant from the state. Battle Ground Public Schools obtained the grant, which was announced months ago, and the city of Battle Ground administered it in consultation with the school district.
