Vancouver Urban Forestry is looking for tree fans interested in a free six-week training course on all things arboreal.

The course, offered every Tuesday evening Feb. 15 through March 22, will cover topics including tree identification, biology, proper care, city tree regulations and the benefits of trees.

People who complete the course will be deployed to help neighbors with tree education and tree-related projects.

Registration is required, and space is limited. Applications are due by Feb. 3. Contact Jessica Antoine at 360-619-1108, or visit http://www.cityofvancouver.us/parks-recreation/parks_trails/urban_forestry/neighborwoods.asp.
