CASCADE PARK — A new neighborhood association, Vancouver’s 64th, has gained official recognition from the city. The Lewis and Clark Woods Neighborhood Association was accepted by the Vancouver City Council on Jan. 11. The organizational effort took nearly a year — driven mostly by Judy Ellis, whose impetus was a home robbery. She said she wanted to get better access to neighborhood policing and volunteer programs like Neighbors On Watch. Boundaries of the new group are: Talton Avenue on the west, Cascade Park Drive on the south, 138th Avenue, Angus Street and 139th Avenue on the east, and southeast 20th Circle on the north (south side of the street on the west, both sides of the street on the east). Current officers are Judy Ellis, chairwoman; David Wright, vice-chair; Leslie Keating, secretary; and Clarice Schorzman, treasurer.
