HOUGH — Hough Elementary School students took part in a “Learn to Earn Bank Day” on Feb. 9 hosted by Umpqua Bank. Students were encouraged to open savings accounts and made deposits at a temporary on-site banking center. Students in kindergarten through fourth grade who opened savings accounts were given matching grants up to $5 from Mayor Tim Leavitt and Umpqua Bank.

Madison Pellico and Anikka Stanley were two Hough students who participated in the “Learn to Earn Bank Day.” The on-campus banking education program is an annual event offered by Umpqua Bank.
