Band receives Safeway Foundation grant

Mountain View — The Mountain View High School band received a $2,500 grant from the Safeway Foundation in January. The band was asked to play at a Safeway remodeling grand opening. Store employees were so impressed that they suggested the band apply for a grant from the foundation; education is one of the focus points of the foundation. The band program has used the money to purchase much needed equipment.
