Jake Belford hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer completing a second-half comeback from 18 points down to lift the Tigers to a non-league win.

Lakeridge of Lake Oswego, Ore., opened up a 14-point lead in the second quarter.

Battle Ground worked to get the margin to 27-23 by halftime and tied the game at 29-29 in the third quarter.

But the Pacers then went on a 16-0 run, eventually pushing the margin to 18 points early in the fourth quarter.

“We had to fight to get back in it,” Battle Ground coach Andy Schoonover said. “Serg (Ovchinnikov) hits a big 3-pointer to get us within two points. We fouled them, and they made one free throw. Then Jake hit the winning 3 to put us up one.”

Ovchinnikov finished with a game-high 28 points, and had five rebounds. Belford added eight rebounds, and Trevor Ingram had five points and six assits.
