The man who suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car on Mill Plain Boulevard Thursday night has died in the hospital, officials said.
Police identified the man Friday as Steve Hunt, 51, of Vancouver.
The accident was reported around 5 p.m. west of Andresen Road. Hunt was struck on or near a lighted crosswalk between the First Independent Bank, on the south side of Mill Plain, and a 76 gas station and convenience store on the north side. Police identified the driver of the car as Mary Riley, 60, of Vancouver.
Riley remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said. Police say they do not believe alcohol, drugs or speed were involved.
Hunt was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center after the crash and was listed in “extremely critical condition” later in the evening, a fire department official said. He later died in the hospital, police said Friday.
