Trent Cowan converted off a sweet pass from Jordan Chatman with 30 seconds to go, giving the Titans some breathing room in a win at the Barlow Trail Tournament in Gresham, Ore.

Cowan’s lay-up gave the Titans three-point lead, and the Titans made their free throws to extend the advantage.

Union will next face West Linn, Ore., at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Chatman led the Titans with 14 points. Copps added 12.

Tanner Nelson had a three-point play and Copps nailed a 3-pointer in a 7-0 outburst to give the Titans a seven point lead with about two minutes to play.

McMinnville rallied to within one, but Chatman found Cowan alone for the layup.
