Prairie 54, Oak Ridge (Calif.) 35 — Heather Corral scored 12 points, Kelsey Asplund had 11, and Megan Lindlsey finished with 10 as the Falcons opened the West Coast Jamboree in Antioch, Calif., with a win.

“We shell-shocked them early,” Prairie coach Al Aldridge said, referring to his team’s defensive intensity against the team from El Dorado Hills, Calif.

Oak Ridge started three 6-footers but failed to get its offense going until it was too late.

“I just don’t think they’ve been defended that way,” Aldridge said. “We manned-them all night and pressed a little bit.”

Prairie held Oak Ridge to four points in the first quarter, then four again in the third quarter.

Prairie faces Culver City, Calif., at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
