Girls basketball: Hockinson 61, Hudson’s Bay 39

Maggie Smith scored 16, Katelyn McGuire scored 15, and Jenna Haagen added 10, leading the Hawks to their fifth win in six games this season.

“That’s the great thing about this team this year is any given person can score,” Hockinson coach Rod Theer said. “We’ve shown than through the first six games.”

Bay’s Treneisha Doyle led all scorers with 17 points.

The Hawks trailed by three after the first quarter, then held Bay to 13 points total in the second and third quarters.

Hockinson also was solid from the line, knocking down 14 of 16 attempts.
