Bart Phillips, 56, has been named vice president of economic development for Innovate Washington, a state- and privately funded agency focused on helping promising technology companies receive the growth capital they need.
Phillips, former president of the Vancouver-based Columbia River Economic Development Council, will be responsible for leading Innovate Washington’s clean energy strategy.
He will remain in Vancouver and open a local office for the organization, which has sites in Spokane and Seattle and operates a research facility in the Tri-Cities.
Innovate Washington is the result of a recent merger between two long-standing programs, the Washington Technology Center and the Spokane Intercollegiate Research and Technology Institute
