Jaden Jantzer came off the bench in the fourth quarter and hit two big 3-pointers, including the go-ahead basket with 20 seconds left to help Washougal improve to 7-0.
“Jantzer hit two big 3s for us,” Washougal coach Malcolm Estes said. “He hit one that got us within two in the fourth, and then that go-ahead basket. Tenino came down and got a good look at the end, but they missed and Jantzer got the tough rebound. It was really his moment to shine.”
Washougal trailed 31-19 early in the third quarter. But the Panthers used strong inside play from Isaac Bischoff and Aaron Deister to rally back into the game.
Bischoff had 11 points and six rebounds, while Deister added eight points and 11 rebounds.
“It was a good win for us, a good challenge,” Estes said. “But the real challenge will come next week when we play Camas and Mountain View.”
