Shumway — Evergreen Habitat for Humanity, Clark County’s local chapter of the charity homebuilder, has won a $53,987 grant to build a home in Vancouver. The grant came from Minneapolis-based Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, a partner with Habitat for Humanity International. Thrivent made a $9.2 million commitment to Habitat for 2012. Evergreen Habitat, at West 33rd Street in Vancouver, said the house will be built within city limits but not specifically where. The local grant will cover 55 percent of construction costs.
