Girls basketball: Battle Ground 42, Mountain View 37

Haley Grossman scored 18 points and Haly Hamilton played a solid defensive games as the visiting Tigers prevailed in a nonleague contest.

Nikki Bond scored 12 points for Battle Ground, including a pair of late free throws to seal the win.

The Tigers (4-2) nursed a small llead for much of the game. Hamilton had three steals, four blocked shots and six rebounds.

Emma Duchesne and Carly Holboke each scored 13 points for the Thunder (1-3). Mountain View led briefly in the third quarter, which ended with Battle Ground on top by a point.
