Mountain View 82, Union 58 — Zach Torson scored seven points in the second quarter, leading the Thunder to a 21-2 advantage in the period en route to the non-league victory.

Union led 21-19 after one quarter behind three 3-point shots from Jordan Chatman, who finished with 31 points. But a pair of Chatman free throws were all the Titans could muster in the second period.

“Union missed some shots, and we made some shots,” Mountain View coach Nate Duchesne said. “I thought our defense was pretty good. We contested and were able to run out a little bit and get some easy baskets at the other end.”

Torson finished with a game-high 23 points for the Thunder, while Ryan Johnson scored 19 and Luke Duchesne added 17.

“I thought it was a great team effort,” Nate Duchesne said. “We moved the ball to the open man and didn’t force much.”

Mountain View also made 27 of 31 free throws.
